Since 1958
The very first restaurant was opened in 1958.
With his entrepreneurial spirit, Gabriele Ciferni started his Trieste lido beach establishment in Pescara, Italy and soon created his signature dish, the pizzetta. Over the years, Trieste’s pizzette, easily recognizable by their size and taste, have become synonymous with high-quality food.

Since 2007
Riccardo and Laila, the founders of the Mare restaurant, travelled abroad in search of inspiration for the expansion of their “pizzette” business, both national and international.
They started to focus on an essential issue: the reproducibility of a high-quality, authentic handmade product in a market that mainly caters industrial products.
In 2007, they opened the second Trieste Pizzeria in the oldest part of Pescara in the Corso Manthonè. This area is busy with business people on weekdays and popular with young people at night and during weekends.

Our third location and the beginning of our successful franchise concept.
In December 2012, we opened our third restaurant “Trieste Pizzeria” in the city centre – via Firenze – with the layout created for the franchise project and using Tonda franchise brand Tonda for the first time, along with the historical Trieste Pizzeria brand.

In May 2013, we opened our fourth restaurant in Francavilla al Mare, near Pescara, making use of both the initial brand Trieste and the franchise brand Tonda. This marks the official start of a successful international development of our franchise concept!
